Compliance: Alphanumeric CNPJ support across Master Data and Marketplace Connectors
What it does
Brazil's IN RFB nº 2.229/2024 requires CNPJ support for an alphanumeric format starting July 2026. Master Data now validates, stores, and processes the new format correctly, ensuring existing workflows that rely on CNPJ validation continue without disruption. In parallel, six VTEX marketplace connectors were updated to accept, process, and store alphanumeric CNPJs: ViaVarejo, SkyHub, Centauro, Magazine Luiza, Mercado Livre, and Amazon. Merchants operating through these channels can transact normally without integration failures. Both updates are automatic and fully backward compatible, and legacy numeric CNPJs continue to work with zero regressions.
